Cartoon

Over the years, I have created several comic strips as a way to explore visual storytelling. It has been a satisfying learning curve to develop these stories while putting less emphasis on the writing and more on the visual story. These projects have helped me understand how to tell a story through imagery, pacing, and composition.

Smithy and the Pint

Living above a pub, I spent a considerable amount of time watching the locals which inspired this comic strip. Smithy and the Pint follows the irreverent adventures of a man and the glass on the end of his hand.

What Happened Frank

This series followed a strict format always beginning with the same piece of dialogue and restricted to five panels. Learning to explore and push those boundaries was an instructive experience.

Wizard of Whim

These cartoons were created using photoshop and a tablet connected to my computer. This revolutionised my creative process and allowed me to play around with the presentation, adding colour and new storytelling devices.

Character Designs

Between comic strips, I have worked on my character design while learning traditional animation methods and related software such as CC animate. Here you will find a collection of character designs and turnarounds developed on Photoshop.
